Refugee Services — resettlement, employment, and legal aid
Comprehensive refugee resettlement including housing, job training, cultural orientation, and DOJ-accredited legal services for citizenship.
By Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston -- Apr 20, 2026
Overview
IM Houston has resettled refugees from over 40 countries for more than 30 years, in partnership with the U.S. State Department, Episcopal Migration Ministries, and Church World Service. Services include initial housing and basic needs, cultural orientation and community integration, job readiness training and employment support, education and health connections, and DOJ-accredited legal services for U.S. citizenship. Over 90% of clients become self-sufficient within 6 to 12 months. The program currently serves more Afghan refugees than any other local Houston agency. Volunteers serve as family mentors, employment mentors, translators, and case management support.
