The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD operates a 24-hour crisis line and walk-in psychiatric emergency center for Harris County residents experiencing a mental health crisis. Beyond crisis services, The Harris Center provides ongoing outpatient counseling, medication management, substance use treatment, and intellectual disability services on a sliding fee scale. Many services are free for uninsured residents. Over 90,000 people are served annually across 87 service sites.
