Harris County transforms ordinary streets into cultural landmarks with vibrant murals celebrating the resilience and diversity of our communities.
Commissioner Lesley Briones is proud to introduce a new collection of public art celebrating the resilience and diversity of Gulfton, Sharpstown, and Alief. These high-impact murals aren’t just paintings; they are cultural landmarks. By transforming ordinary streets into canvases, we ensure that the paths between us honor the diversity and heritage of the people who travel them every day.
Paths Forward highlights the children of Gulfton as symbols of resilience, diversity, and promise. Realistic portraits reflect everyday life, while a colorful, winding path represents imagination and the journey ahead. A butterfly anchors the mural as a symbol of hope, transformation, and new beginnings.
This is part of All of Us — culture, belonging, and what connects us.
