Harris County Precinct 4 is creating master plans to improve 55 parks and trails, with community input shaping the future of our outdoor spaces.
Harris County Precinct 4 is creating master plans to improve parks and trails across northwest Harris County. Commissioner Lesley Briones leads this effort to make our outdoor spaces healthier and more enjoyable for families. The Healthy Parks Plan covers all 55 parks, greenspaces, and trails in Precinct 4.
This includes areas like Cy-Fair, Spring, Tomball, and parts of northwest Houston. The planning process uses community input and data to decide which improvements matter most to residents. Projects might include new playgrounds, better lighting, walking trails, sports courts, or upgraded facilities.
The plan also focuses on specific parks like Burnett Bayland Park, which will get a complete transformation based on what the community wants. These improvements matter because good parks keep our families healthy and active. They provide safe places for kids to play and adults to exercise.
Parks also boost property values and bring neighbors together. Quality greenspaces help our air stay clean and provide relief during hot Houston summers. Residents can join the planning process through community workshops, surveys, and stakeholder meetings.
Your voice helps decide what gets built in your neighborhood parks. The planning happens from summer 2023 through spring 2024. Visit the Harris County Precinct 4 website or attend community meetings to share your ideas for better parks and trails.
