The Health Committee addresses health disparities affecting communities of color in Houston and Harris County. Through education, advocacy, and community partnerships, the committee works to ensure equitable healthcare access and improved health outcomes for all residents. When we show up together, our community becomes more connected, more resilient, and more powerful.

IM Houston

For over 60 years, Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston has brought people of diverse faith traditions together for dialogue, collaboration, and service to the most vulnerable in our community. IM Houston operates Texas's largest Meals on Wheels program (delivering 1.5 million meals annually to 4,300+ homebound seniors), resettles refugees from 40+ countries, coordinates thousands of disaster and community volunteers through Volunteer Houston, and fosters interfaith understanding through dialogue programs, youth leadership, and cultural exchange.

Fifth Ward Multi-Service Center

The Fifth Ward Multi-Service Center is a City of Houston facility serving one of Houston's oldest and most historically significant African American neighborhoods. The West End Multi-Service Center is a City of Houston facility on Heights Boulevard serving the Sixth Ward and Heights area neighborhoods. Located in one of Houston's older inner-loop communities, the center provides residents with access to health screenings, social services, public benefits navigation, and civic programming administered through the Houston Health Department.
