Making It Work
The Harris Central Appraisal District board meets monthly to oversee property appraisal operations, budgets, and policies that determine property tax values for every homeowner and business in Harris County. Meetings are open to the public. Board decisions directly affect property tax bills for more than 1.8 million parcels in the county. Residents can attend to comment on appraisal practices, exemption policies, and budget decisions that impact their annual tax burden.
