Overview
Middle College High School at HCC Gulfton is an innovative early college program that serves 123 students in grades 9-12. This Houston ISD school sits right on the Houston Community College Gulfton campus at 5407 Gulfton Street, creating unique opportunities for our students. The middle college model lets high school students take both high school and college classes at the same time. Students can graduate with their high school diploma AND college credits or even an associate degree. This saves families thousands of dollars in college costs and gives students a head start on their career goals. Principal Holly Gibson leads a team that supports students from the diverse Gulfton community, including many immigrant families and English language learners. The school provides free meals, transportation, and wraparound services that help students succeed. Students can explore career paths in healthcare, business, technology, and other fields through HCC's programs. The location serves families in Gulfton, Sharpstown, Westwood, and nearby neighborhoods in Southwest Houston. Parents can enroll their students through Houston ISD's school choice process. The school offers small class sizes and personalized attention that helps students transition to college-level work.
