Overview
Challenge Early College High School is a Houston ISD campus where students can earn both their high school diploma and college credits at the same time. Located at 5601 W Loop S in southwest Houston, this school serves 454 students in grades 9-12 under Principal Jose Santos. Early college programs like Challenge help our young people save time and money on higher education while staying close to home. Students take regular high school classes alongside college courses, often graduating with an associate degree or significant college credits. This means families can save thousands of dollars on college tuition. The school serves the Sharpstown and Gulfton neighborhoods, areas with strong immigrant communities where college access has been limited. Challenge provides free public education, meals, and support services to help all students succeed. Students get extra academic support, college readiness training, and career counseling. Many graduates transfer to four-year universities or enter the workforce with valuable credentials. To enroll your child, contact the school at (713) 664-9712 or visit during open enrollment periods. The school also offers tours and information sessions for interested families. Transportation is available through Houston ISD bus routes.
