Overview
Ashford Elementary is our neighborhood public school in West Houston, serving 564 students from early education through fifth grade. Located on Shannon Valley Drive in the 77077 area, this Houston ISD school provides free, quality education right in our community. Principal Kylene Vasquez leads a team focused on helping every child succeed. Our school offers much more than classroom learning. Students get free breakfast and lunch every day, ensuring no child learns on an empty stomach. After-school programs keep kids engaged with sports, arts, and homework help. Special education services support students with different learning needs. Bilingual programs help families where English is a second language. This matters because strong neighborhood schools build strong communities. When our local school succeeds, property values stay stable and families want to live here. Good schools mean parents don't have to drive across town or pay for private education. Every Houston family deserves excellent public education close to home. Getting involved is easy and important.
