Overview
Arabic Immersion Magnet School is a unique Houston ISD elementary school that teaches students in both English and Arabic from pre-kindergarten through 7th grade. Located at 4001 Stanford Street in the Museum District, this magnet school serves 538 students who learn core subjects like math, science, and social studies in both languages. Principal Ms. Mahassen Ballouli leads a program that helps students become fluent in Arabic while mastering grade-level content. This dual-language approach prepares students for our global economy where bilingual skills open doors to careers in international business, diplomacy, healthcare, and technology. Houston's diverse economy benefits when our children can communicate across cultures. The school provides the same free services as all Houston ISD schools: nutritious meals, after-school programs, library access, and special education support when needed. Families from across Houston can apply during the magnet school application period, typically in January. Students don't need to speak Arabic to enroll - the program welcomes beginners. Transportation may be available depending on your address. This school strengthens our community by celebrating Arabic culture while building academic excellence.
