Where We Live
The Houston Archaeological and Historical Commission meets monthly to review applications for historic landmark designation, certificates of appropriateness for changes to protected properties, and archaeological preservation matters. The commission protects Houston's architectural heritage and cultural history. Meetings are open to the public and residents can attend to support or oppose landmark designations and development changes to historic properties in their neighborhoods.
