Where We Live
The Houston Building and Standards Commission meets monthly to hear cases involving substandard buildings, dangerous premises, and code violations across the city. The commission has the authority to order repairs, demolition, or securing of unsafe structures that pose risks to neighbors and communities. Meetings are open to the public and affected property owners, neighbors, and community members can attend to testify on cases in their neighborhoods.
