Texas SNAP Eligibility Expansion — 2025

The expansion removes the asset test for most SNAP households and raises the gross income limit to 200% of the federal poverty level for families with children or elderly members. An estimated 180,000 additional Texas households now qualify. Apply through Texas Health and Human Services or at any Houston Food Bank partner site.
